TARGET AUDIENCE: Elementary APE Teachers, PE/Health
Teachers are going to work in groups by schools to break down all of our new Kansas PE Competencies by sub section and relate them to activities/skills they are doing in their classes/school throughout the year. Teahers will be given collaboration time with other schools to compare and share different ideas of how to implement all the sub sections.
This session will discuss incorporating Indigenous history into the content with guest speaker Dr. Tai Edwards. Teachers will also have a chance to collaborate by elective courses. US History teachers will have a quick review of the State Assessment.
Kelli Baker from the University of Kansas will be providing Professional Development. Teachers will be provided vocal music based curriculum ideas to use in their classrooms.
TARGET AUDIENCE: Middle School Social Studies Teachers

University professors, Scott Watson and Kim Trujillo, will be providing Professional Development. Teachers will be provided curricular based ideas for tuba and drum set to use in their classrooms.
K-State Music Education Professor, Rachel Dirks, will be providing Professional Development. Teachers will be provided orchestral based curriculum ideas to use in their classrooms.
TARGET AUDIENCE: Pre-K, Elementary, Middle School, High School Visual Art Teachers
Washburn University Art Education Professor, Deena Amont, will be providing Professional Development. Teachers will be provided art based curriculum ideas that will include an opportunity for hands-on activity and general discussion on Art Education Pedogagy.
In this session, middle school teachers will learn skills to use the new KAP mini tests to prepare students for Kansas Science Assessments this spring.
